Those holding a certificate in information studies are eligible for admission. The KCSE certificate holder must attain the following grades: -

    This course takes six terms the examining body is Kenya National Examinations Council. After successful completion of the Diploma course, the trainee may be employed as:


    • A librarian in school, college and university libraries, research centres and industrial libraries.
    • Information officer in media centres in the ministry of Information and Broadcasting and in non-government organizations
    • Information specialist in research institutions, in National Population Services, in data banks and archives.
    • A record manager, a registrar and, archivist
    • A documenters in document centre
    • An information resource manager
    • A publishing and marketing manager in publishing houses
    • A bookshop manager.
    • Public Relations officer in the information industry.

    In addition, the trainee will be granted mature entry into both private and public Universities offering a degree in Library and Information Science, or in Information and Communication studies, locally, regionally and internationally.

    The trainees may also establish their own information centres dealing with information collection, evaluation and dissemination.
